Role SummaryLead technical strategy and architecture for Under the Roof (UTR) Tech systems, integrating software, IoT, robotics, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to enable intelligent, automated delivery stations at billion-package scale.
Technical DomainsSoftware architecture, IoT systems, Industrial automation, Robotics, Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), Storage & Retrieval Systems, Embedded systems, Mechanical systems, AI/ML optimization.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead UTR technical strategy; define automation roadmap; architect scalable hardware-software systems; influence 350+ engineers; establish automation standards (LiDAR, autonomous systems); mentor senior engineers; ensure 99.9% reliability.
Scale & ImpactSupports hundreds of services including Tier 1 package sortation systems; global influence across multiple VP organizations; impacts millions of daily deliveries.
Basic Qualifications10+ years software development experience; 8+ years programming (Java/C++); 8+ years system architecture & design experience (scalability, reliability).
Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in Computer Science or related field; 2+ years as Senior Principal Engineer; large-scale supply chain project experience; collaboration with ML/Research teams.
Programming LanguagesJava, C++ (at least one modern language required).
Automation & Hardware ExposureRobotics, CNC systems, LiDAR-based systems, real-time tracking, preventive maintenance systems.
Compensation Range (US)$205,400 – $350,000 base pay (varies by geographic market). Additional equity, sign-on, and benefits may apply.
