Purpose of the position

Why the positions exists?

  • What will happen if there is no one in the position (no one performs the work)?
  • This role is responsible to drive project management activities in line with Powertrain Project Management Process for respective EV aggregate projects to ensure program and project deliverables of cost, quality and time are met. The role is also responsible to plan & manage Capital and revenue budget for respective projects. 
  • Considering fast changing scenario in the area of Battery Electric and Fuel Cell Elective vehicles and organizational targets to have leadership in this area; the role is very critical to ensure timely delivery of new projects in this area through systematic project management process.

  • Financial: Project Design and Development Budget (Capital & revenue budget)
  • Non-financial: Manage project deliverables as per aggregate project management process

Personal Profile

  • Education BE/ B Tech – Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile, PMP Certification or equivalent (Preferred).

Work Experience

  • Working knowledge requirement Understanding of New Product Development Process – Project Planning, Monitoring & Execution of automotive projects. Knowledge of business case and project financials. Project Management reporting software. Knowledge of quality tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & execution

  • Provide inputs for estimation of resources for respective programs.
  • Planning, forecasting & analysis of capex & revenue budget requirements 
  • Create and review plans in MS projects, risk mitigation and timely resolution of critical issues
  • Plan and execute deliverables as per new product development process to meet cost, timeline and quality targets.Timely completion of project deliverables as per deliverable success criteria.

Key actions and decisions

  • Manage completion of deliverables as per new product development process and ensure adherence through online systems to meet project deliverables as per plan.
  • Analyse and report project milestone and deliverables achievement & raise flag for concerns on achieving milestones. 
  • Manage documentation and sign off for key project documents, deliverables to meet the targets.
  • Track budget and incurrence and highlight concern areas.  
  • Collaborate with respective functions for powertrain integration activities, costing, material availability, proto build, homologation requirements etc.
  • Support review governance and participate in CFT and management reviews to report on project status
  • Timely completion of project deliverables as per deliverable success criteria.

Nature of problems faced/ Scope of improvement opportunities

  • Manage issues related to completion of project deliverables as per plan and success criteria.
  • Facilitate cross functional activities to resolve project issues.
  • Addresses prototype / production planning and execution related concerns.
  • Debottleneck issues related to supplier on-boarding, parts availability etc. 
  • Manage budgeting and resourcing related issues
  • Align Stakeholder requirements.
  • Change management Timely completion of project deliverables as per deliverable success criteria.
