The examination was conducted under Advertisement No. UGC NET June 2026 to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and Ph.D. admissions in various subjects.
The UGC NET June 2026 examination was conducted from 22 June to 30 June 2026, with a retest held on 5 July 2026. The final result and scorecards were released on 28 August 2026. Candidates who have qualified will now proceed to the next stages, including e-certificate issuance and the applicable counselling or document verification process. The result will be prepared on the basis of combined performance in both papers. Candidates will be placed in the following categories:
- JRF + Assistant Professor
- Assistant Professor + PhD Admission
- PhD Admission Only
For PhD admission, the UGC NET score will have 70% weightage, while the interview will carry 30% weightage.
