Regulatory KnowledgePIPEDA, provincial privacy laws (Canada), POPIA (South Africa), data protection frameworks
Education & LicensureJuris Doctor (JD) + active law license (or ability to maintain)
Key ResponsibilitiesLegal advisory, regulatory compliance, contract review, risk management, stakeholder collaboration
Legal AdvisoryProvide subject matter expertise on VOIE products, privacy, consent models, and data usage
Stakeholder CollaborationWork with Product, Technology, Compliance, Privacy, and Operations teams
Regulatory ComplianceEnsure alignment with legal frameworks in Canada and South Africa
Contract ManagementReview payroll/HCM, verifier, and data-use agreements
Risk ManagementIdentify legal risks (data accuracy, permissions, partners) and recommend mitigation
Data GovernanceReview data flows, consent mechanisms, disclosures, workflows
Regulatory SupportAssist with audits, regulatory inquiries, and compliance reviews
Dispute HandlingSupport dispute resolution, reinvestigations, and escalations
CommunicationTranslate complex legal requirements into clear business guidance
